Dedicated to the purebred Labrador Retriever
Back in 1986, I purchased my first Labrador Retriever. A little chocolate male out of a cardboard box in front of my local feed store. I didn't get papers, heck I didn't even know they came in any other color but black. So began a love affair with these wonderful dogs. We joined our local dog
4-H club and off we went. Soon my son was in matches and wanted to go on to compete in AKC Juniors but we needed to get a purebred Labrador. Honey came into our lives. We learned so much from her from conformation and begining hunting, to her specialty... obedience. She was a natural, earning her CD title and my first, at 18 months of age. From there things just took off. We joined the local Labrador Club and soon I became a 4-H leader, having my club for 17 years. I also acquired my AKC Junior Handling Judges License. Over the years I have met many wonderful people, many whom I have turned to for advice and many I gladly call friends, all thanks to this wonderful breed. In the next pages you will see my Labradors from the past, my Labradors from the present along with up and coming Labradors who hopefully are my future.
I can't imagine a life without them in it.
